Floor Coverings

When it comes to floor coverings there are numerous solutions and it all comes down to your personal taste.

Timber flooring

This is often the base floor material of any timber building and depending on the quality of the face it can often just be filled with gap filler and stained, polished, lacquered or even painted. Relatively easy to clean it remains a very popular option however it can be colder underfoot during cooler months. Putting down rugs or carpet matts can help combat the cold.

Carpet

Probably the most common and obvious solution, this is warmer underfoot than hard surfaces such as timber flooring or tile. Keep in mind that carpet is not as serviceable as hard floors, and may not be ideal if you have pets or kids.

Engineered plank flooring

An increasingly popular option, engineered flooring is available in a plank form and often includes a very thin top layer of real timber. this means you can achieve a timber floor look without the same cost or shrinking issues associated with solid hardwood flooring.
